English 'Sacrificial Lamb' Latten Counter Lead alloy, 0.77 grams, 15.51 mm. Circa late 14th - early 15th Century. Obverse: A well executed design depicting the sacrificial lamb left, head facing back right, triangular flag on pole in front, through centre of the counter. Reverse: A large expanding cross, hatched. Ref: Michael Mitchiner has no examples of this obverse in his work: 'The Medieval Period and Nuremberg; reverse similar to p129' No 313. Very Fine.
