The History of celtic coins~
British Celtic coins were produced between the late second Century B.C. and the mid first Century A.D. and represented a final artistic and technical flourish in the 350 year development of European Celtic Coinage. Celtic Coinage provided an ideal means by which nobles or kings could make gifts and payments to their followers, and thus enhance their prestige. This was a process which was absolutely essential to a ruler's success and to the maintenance of the wider social hierarchy. Lost for almost 2000 years, you can now collect these amazing works of art, a genuine piece of British Celtic history. Please view our Celtic coins by clicking on the tribal links below. We are regularly adding Gold, Silver and Bronze Celtic coins to our on line catalogue so ensure you revisit regularly for updates.
