RARE Antwerp 'Henry VII Gold Ryal' Coin Weight. Copper alloy, 7.10 grams; 16.35 mm. Circa Early 16th Century A.D. A weight from the Lowlands most probably Antwerp, it is square in shape with two faces. The obverse depicts a hand with M D and L P below within a circle. The reverse shows a ship with an R on the left and rose in the centre below, identical to the design on the obverse of a Ryal or Rose Noble. Ref: M D/LP is listed as an unknown maker in Lions, Ships and Angels hence rare. Very Fine condition.
