Silver, 1.28 grams; 19.92 mm. Short Cross, Phase B; 1205-1230 AD. Obverse: crowned profile bust with sceptre and legend with retrograde lettering. Reverse: voided short cross with star in each quarter and legend +WALTER ADAM for the moneyers Walter and Adam jointly at Edinburgh. S 5030. Fine-good fine.

Alexander III 'Berwick, Scotland' Long Cross Penny
Silver, 1.22 grams; 19.75 mm. Second Coinage, Class B, Type Ma; 1280-1286 AD. Obverse: crowned profile bust with sceptre in front and legend +ALEXANDER DEI GRA. Reverse: long cross dividing legend with mullet of 6 points in each quarter and legend REX/SCO/TOR/VM+. The total number of points to the reverse mullets being 24 is thought to be linked to issues of the Berwick mint. S 5053. Very fine.

Scarce Mary 'Counter Stamped' Hardhead
Copper, 0.96 grams; 16.13 mm. 1575 A.D. Obverse; Crowned FM monogram, dolphin each side looking right. Reverse; Crowned lion rampant with a heart and star countermark. S 5522. Very Fine for issue. Due to the great numbers of forgeries in circulation hardheads and placks of Mary were called in in 1575 and re-issued with a heart and star counter mark which was the arms of the Earl of Morton for use under the reign of James VI.

Reverse: Long-cross with 5-pointed mullet in each angle, VILL/AED/InBV/RGH, Edinburgh mint. S 5125. Very Fine condition with a nice ancient tone. Better than scanned.

Reverse: Long-cross with 5-pointed mullet in each angle, VILL/AED/InBV/RGH, Edinburgh mint. S 5138. Two small flan cracks, but in a good sound state in Very Fine condition.
